Art and food with Venice Painting and Tapas private tour

Venice Paintings and Tapas private guided tour begins at the cruise port, and your guide will take you with a private van to the car terminal Piazzale Roma, where your walking tour will start. Strolling along the narrow alleys of Venice, your guide will take you to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Set up as a charitable institution devoted to nursing the sick, the Scuola di San Rocco (St. Roch’s fraternity) is one of the richest artistic site of Venice. Literally draped with paintings by Tintoretto, this is the crowning achievement of the artist’s long and prodigious career.

The imposing Franciscan church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, a huge Gothic building which strikes at the same time for the sobriety of the architecture and the richness of the sculpturesque and pictorial decoration.

Titian’s most famous painting, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, will immediately capture your attention as you’ll enter the church, decorated with many other masterpieces by Titian, Giovanni Bellini and other painters.

After the visit to the church, Venice Paintings and Tapas tour will take you to the Rialto market place.

This is one of the most picturesque area of Venice, where you’ll wander about vegetable and fruit stalls before stopping by a Venetian osteria (tavern), and delight your palate with the typical savoury Venetian “cicchetti” (tapas) and a glass of wine.

You will have now time to shop around and take wonderful pictures of the Grand Canal.

PLEASE NOTICE: The Rialto fruit and vegetable market is open every morning except Sundays, and the fish market is open every morning except Sundays and Mondays.

We can organize on request an optional transfer to take you back to the ship.
