The best find we had in Venice was our water taxi service. We used
Luigi from Venice Guide & Boat. He picked us up at the airport for
80 Euros. We were four people with 4 suitcases and 4 carry-ons. It was great.
No line for taxis. No negotiating. On their website they offered a special
discount when you book multiple services with them so we arranged for them to
pick us up from the hotel and take us to the ship. A friend had also suggested
that we do a tour of Venice by water so we hired Luigi for that as well.
He was incredibly well informed and shared lots of history and local flavor
about Venice with us. We asked him to take us to a glass factory on Murano
that wasn't a tourist trap. It was a great experience. We loved watching the
glass blowers in action.
